Caldera walkway from Oia to Fira

A special experience for every rambler is the caldera walkway from Fira to Oia. We went by bus to Oia in the north of the island, the starting point for our hike. After a short visit to Oia and buying mineral water in the supermarket, we left the centre of Oia to eastern direction. Behind the Sotiras Church in Oia we left behind the holiday apartments and take the right narrow path.

For the way uphill with lava rocks it is recommended use walking shoes. On the summit we visit the chapel Zoodohos Pigis. We get a beautiful view to Oia as a reward. This is a popular place to enjoy the sunset.
